Security Guard - Unarmed

I.    JOB SUMMARY:

Maintain a security presence at Goodwill Industries of Tulsa, Inc. facilities.  Maintains safe and secure environment for students, customers and employees by patrolling and monitoring building access.   

II.   ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against intrusion, theft, and maintain security of premises.
2. Report rule infractions or violations to supervisory personnel.
3. Periodically patrol premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates.
4. Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
5. Answer alarms and report to supervisory personnel.
6. Call police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons.  Answer questions, and provide information during non-business hours or when switchboard is closed.
7. Monitor and report issues with building systems, such as air conditioning, furnace, etc.
8. Reviews and is familiar with Company safety policies, programs and procedures.  Adheres to all safety rules, regulations and safety codes, and attends safety training sessions and safety meetings.
9. Maintains current certifications in First Aid and CPR and administers First Aid and CPR as required.

 III.  OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

 Other duties as required.

 IV.  EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  High school graduate or GED. On-the-job training over a period up to and including three (3) months.

V.   OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS:

 Must be at least 21 years old.

Must have a current CLEET license. 

 Must be eligible for a positive outcome on required State of Oklahoma criminal conviction background check.

Pass a Pre-employment Alcohol and Drug Screen.

Must maintain Goodwill’s Drug-Free Workplace.

VI.  PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, acuity-near, depth perception, field of vision and color vision.

Lifting/Carrying:             Light Work:  Lifting 20 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 10 lbs.

Pushing/Pulling:            Medium Work:   Lifting 50 lbs. maximum with frequent pushing and/or pulling objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
