IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR

Director, TulsaWORKS Career Academy & Job Connection 

JOB SUMMARY

The Coordinator, TulsaWORKS Career Academy, coordinates and implements vocational training programs, to include targeted case management, occupational skill training and work readiness training according to established policies and within the regulations of the applicable licensing agencies.   

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Supervises all occupational skill training and any new programs added to the occupational skill training programs. Evaluates the effectiveness of the training and assures programs meet all state and other licensing and certification requirements. (eg. Oklahoma Board of Private Vocational Schools, Council on Law Enforcement and Education Training, A+ Certification et al.)

Facilitates, or delegates portions of Life Skills classes, which provide interests, skills and abilities evaluations, community resources information, career exploration and work readiness information.

Oversees the recruitment and assessment of potential program participants.

Recruits, hires, trains, and supervises program personnel, ensuring staff has proper training to provide needed services.

Involves the individual receiving services as the most important decision-maker in the provision of services.

Assures individual career plans are developed to assess the needs of program participants/families based upon participants’ skills, interests and assessed needs and the needs of the participants’ dependents.

Monitors progress of caseloads in order to assure appropriate progress and that established goals are met.

Assists in setting program goals, budgets, and curricula, and initiates methods and strategies to reach those goals.

Maintains accurate records and assures monthly invoices for services are completed accurately and submitted timely.

Prepares and executes annual objectives and action plans to accomplish departmental strategies.  Coaches subordinates in completing objectives and action plans for their respective areas of responsibility and monitors progress toward achievement of objectives.

Annually develops: monthly monitors; and reports quarterly Key Measures to assure progress toward successful achievement of defined objectives.  Adjusts action plans to assure achievement of objectives.

Prepares and monitors financial and operational budgets and schedules to assure effective, efficient achievement of organizational goals and objectives.

Establishes and maintains ongoing relationships with governmental organizations and community resources for effective service delivery to program participants.

Researches and prepares grant requests and reports thereon for TulsaWORKS Career Academy programs.

Demonstrates expertise with Microsoft Office Suite and client database and assures case information is accurately recorded in the client database.

Follows, enforces and provides training to ensure that all safety rules and regulations are followed.  Completes and submits any necessary forms and/or reports immediately, but no longer than within 24 hours, when an incident occurs. Maintains current certifications in First Aid and CPR and administers if required.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

Functions as a referral source for those needing the services of other agencies.

Markets other Goodwill services to outside organizations and individuals.

Other duties as required.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in related field, with minimum of two years of previous experience working with persons with employment barriers. Two years of supervisory experience required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Talking, hearing, reaching, handling, hand & finger dexterity, seeing, depth perception, lifting, and carrying.

Lifting/Carrying/Pushing/Pulling: Light Work. Light work is defined as exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects, or walking or standing to a significant degree.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be at least 21 years old.

Must have a valid Oklahoma driver’s license, with a good driving record.

Must maintain appropriate requirements for legal vehicle operation, including current automobile insurance inspection, and license plate.

Must be eligible for a positive outcome on required State of Oklahoma criminal conviction background check.

Must maintain Goodwill’s Drug-Free Workplace.
