JOB TITLE:
Janitorial Floor Specialist I

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR:
Janitorial Contracts Coordinator

JOB SUMMARY:
Maintains premises of commercial, institutional, industrial or similar establishments in clean and orderly condition performing the following duties: sweeping, stripping, waxing, buffing and polishing floors.  

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Sweeps, strips, waxes and polishes floors using broom, mop and power scrubbing and buffing equipment.

Visually examines floors and carpets for stains which need spot cleaning.

Spot cleans and waxes floors to maintain high luster finish.

Cleans carpet with extraction equipment or other methods, as required.

Loads and unloads equipment and supplies weighing up to 100 lbs. from a panel truck.

Travels to janitorial contract properties and Goodwill properties performing floor care services as required.

Able to work independently or as part of a team as the job requires.

Review and be familiar with Company safety policies, programs and procedures, adhere to all safety rules, regulations and safety codes, and attend safety training sessions and safety meetings.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
Other duties as required.

OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Must be 21 years of age.

Must have a valid Oklahoma Driver’s License, with a good driving record.

Must be eligible for positive outcome on required State of <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:state w:st="on">Oklahoma criminal conviction background check.

Must maintain appropriate requirements for legal vehicle operation including current automobile insurance, inspection and license plates.

Must pass drug test.

Must have prior experience and knowledge of the machines, chemicals and processes used in floor maintenance.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
On-the-job training over a period up to and including five (5) years as a floor technician, with mastery of hard surface and carpet floor care including the operation of standard floor care equipment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, acuity-near, acuity-far, depth perception, field of vision and color vision.

Lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling:    Heavy Work: Lifting 100 lbs. maximum, two-man lift, with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 50 lbs., one man lift.
