Gifts and Bequests
Gifts to Goodwill
Every day, people from all walks of life leave charitable gifts in their wills. Planned giving to Goodwill Industries through wills and estates is a wonderful way to make a lasting impact, while also enjoying the tax advantages of philanthropic giving.
A gift given "In Memory Of" will memorialize a friend or relative.
A gift given "In Honor Of" can be for any special occasion, commemorating a birthday, anniversary, etc.
For either of these occasions, Goodwill will notify the family or the individual designated. The donor will also receive a letter in recognition of the gift.
In addition, bequests to Goodwill are one of the best living testimonials that can be left behind. Bequests of any size can help make sure that Goodwill will be here serving our local community with quality employment and support programs for generations to come. A bequest, whether in the form of cash, securities, or other property, may be fully deducted in determining federal estate taxes and inheritance taxes. You may designate a percentage of the cash and/or property in your estate to go to Goodwill, you may name a specific property in your estate or specific dollar amount, or you may name Goodwill as the final beneficiary to receive whatever remains in your estate after other heirs are provided for. Through your will your gift lives on the help others.
These gifts which you have worked hard to earn will keep on giving as they provide the means by which people with disabilities and other barriers to employment can aspire to become self-sufficient through the necessary training and job placement services provided by our programs.
