Donation Information

What types of donations will Goodwill accept?

  • Clothing, shoes, and accessories (jewelry, purses, belts, etc.)
  • Household items (kitchenware, home decor, holiday decor, etc.)
  • Computers, printers, and accessories
  • Books, comics, and magazines
  • Media (CDs, DVDs, VHS, etc.)
  • Handheld musical instruments
  • Bicycles (accepted at our 2800 Southwest Boulevard location only)
  • Electronics (radios, lamps, small appliances, game consoles, etc.)
  • Hand tools (small power tools, etc.)
  • Sporting goods (sports balls, etc.)
  • Luggage
  • Linens (blankets, sheets, towels, etc.)
  • Toys (Legos, puzzles, hot wheels, dolls, etc.)
  • Collectibles (action figures, trading cards, vinyl records, etc.)
  • Games (board games, tabletop games, card games, etc.)
  • Gifts, bequests and cash donations (learn more here)

What types of donations are not accepted?

  • Cribs, strollers, car seats, baby swings, bouncers, walkers, high chairs, and safety gates
  • Helmets
  • Building materials, plumbing supplies, water heaters, light fixtures, etc.
  • Damaged or broken items
  • Carpet and pads
  • Trees (artificial or real)
  • Furniture (office or home) and major household appliances
  • Large game tables, basketball goals, and exercise equipment
  • Medication and medical equipment
  • Food and beverage items
  • Heating and air conditioning equipment
  • Pianos and organs
  • Lawn mowers and large lawn equipment
  • Mattresses, box springs, and frames
  • Televisions
  • Vehicles, batteries, tires, or auto parts
  • Hazardous materials (chemicals, cleaning products, paint, etc.)
  • Weapons or ammunition of any kind

Is my donation tax deductible?
Because Goodwill Industries of Tulsa is a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) organization, donations that are in "good used condition or better" are tax deductible. When you consider donating an item, a good rule of thumb is that if you would give that item to a friend or family member, it is likely in good used condition or better.
